The thought of soup always brings warm memories to mind. Sometimes it may be sitting by a warm fire watching the snow fall on the ground, enjoying a warm bowl.

Or perhaps soothing a sick child with a bowl of homemade chicken noodle soup. I’m not certain whether it’s the pleasant memories associated with soup or the versatility and flavour that come from preparing a favorite recipe of soup that I love best.

A nice way to make your tried and true soup recipe even more enjoyable is to toss all of the ingredients in a little olive oil and aromatic herbs. This not only enhances the flavour but it also reduces the need for salt.

Pairing some nice homemade herb bread with soup always seems to be the perfect combination. You can also try adding a few dabs of honey to make delicious homemade honey bread.
