There is something so comforting about soup on a cold winter’s day. Pair it with some fresh bread and you’ve got the perfect warm-up meal.

Soup is also a great to have on hand for a quick and easy last minute supper, which brings me to this week’s tip…

  • Plan to spend a day making lots of seasonal soups and canning them. It’s such a good way to make fast food!

Wild Rice GumboYou can also make this a fun activity by gathering your friends and enlisting each friend to make multiple batches of their specialty soups. You can then trade with one another to have a wide variety to last all winter long!

It’s ¬†also always a great idea to have soup on hand in the freezer so you can quickly drop off a batch to friends or neighbors who fall ill!
